PEL = OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit. TLV = ACGIH Threshold Limit Value. These are 8 hour time-weighted averages unless otherwise indicated by "C" (Ceiling) or "STEL" (Short Term Exposure Limit). ). A "skin" notation indicates exposures should be controlled for the cutaneous routes including the mucous membranes, eyes and skin. Airborne exposures as well as direct contact must be considered. FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATAFLAMMABLE LIMITS: Lower = 1.2% Upper = 7.5% FLASH POINT: < 0° F (Setaflash) EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Carbon Dioxide, Dry Chemical, Foam, Water Spray or Fog. SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Soak packaging with water. A self-contained breathing apparatus should be used when fighting fires involving chemicals. UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Flammable. Thermal decomposition products can be formed. REACTIVITY DATAHAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Will not occur. STABILITY: Stable. INCOMPATIBILITY: None Known. This product does not mix well or dilute with water. HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Thermal decomposition can yield CO and CO2. CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Exposure to excessive heat and storage above 100° F will shorten the shelf life of this product. HEALTH HAZARD DATAKNOWN HAZARDS: Eye and skin irritation. Central nervous system (CNS) depressant. CARCINOGENICITY: IARC classifies crystalline silica as a Gp IIA carcinogen based upon respirable dust. This product does not pose a dust hazard; therefore, this classification is not applicable. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE: Causes eye and skin irritation. Prolonged or repeated contact can cause defatting and/or dermatitis. Can have an anesthetic effect if inhaled. Headache, dizziness, staggering, confusion, unconsciousness or coma can occur from repeated or intentional inhalation of high concentrations of vapors. PRIMARY ROUTES OF EXPOSURE: Dermal. Inhalation. MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Skin and eye conditions. EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURESEYES: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water. Call a physician. SKIN: Wash with soap and water. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. INHALATION: Move victim to fresh air. Give oxygen and/or artificial respiration if needed. Call a physician. INGESTION: Give plenty of water to drink. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek medical attention. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to by a physician. OTHER: Referral to a physician is recommended if there is any question about the seriousness of the injury/exposure. CONTROL MEASURES AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTVENTILATION: General (i.e. natural or mechanically induced fresh air movements that maintain vapor concentrations below recommended exposure limits). EYE PROTECTION: Not normally required, however, safety glasses should be worn in most industrial settings. SKIN PROTECTION: Gloves recommended (cotton gloves are sufficient). RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Not normally required. Use a NIOSH-approved organic vapor respirator when vapor concentrations exceed recommended exposure limits. Never enter a confined space without an appropriate air-supplied respirator. PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USEHANDLING AND STORING PRECAUTIONS: Extremely flammable. Keep away from ignition sources such as heat, sparks, and flame. Avoid contact with the eyes. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with the skin and clothing. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling. Store between 60 and 80 F. SPILL PROCEDURES: Remove all sources of ignition. Scoop up and place in a container for proper disposal. Not soluble in water. Excess spillage can be removed by wiping with mineral spirits.
